Keeping It Simple

I read somewhere that making too many New Year's resolutions is one of the main reasons that most people usually never keep up with them. And that makes sense from my own failures because I can't successfully complete a list of anything when I tackle it all at the same time. It's far too overwhelming! For at least the past four years--along with a long list of other goals--one of my New Year's resolutions has been to lose weight and it never happened.
So I'm making 3-4 resolutions for 2010. Of course, topping the list is to lose this weight once and for all. This week, I'm compiling my weight-loss strategies. Please share if you have any?

I've been eating well (or at least not too terribly) since finals ended and took my stress eating with it. Here's what I ate today:

Brunch - Sliced apples with raisins.Vanana (Banana & Vanilla) yogurt with granola.

Supper - 1 slice of toasted whole wheat bread with hummus. 2 meat-less sausages. sliced grape tomatoes. mixed spring salad. corn. broccoli.

But now I'm eating an ice cream cone! YIKES. For the new year, I'm sticking to frozen fruit (like frozen mango chunks) for dessert.

Everything looks so yummy! I totally forgot about hummus. I'm going to buy some on my next shopping trip.

Can't wait to read your New Years resolution list.

Strategy? I've been at this for nearly two years...remember that you didn't gain it overnight, it will not come off overnight, and if you want it to stick, you need to do it in a manner that you will be able to live with for the rest of your life. Most of all, never give up!

- Thanks, Julia! I heart hummus!
- Good point, Beautiful heart! Yeah, I've come to realize that good health is about a lifestyle, not diets, etc. What I meant is that I'm working towards healthier eating habits, and making exercise habitual. Thanks for your comment! I really appreciate it. Best wishes in the new year.

two words
CALORIE CAP.
You see, although it matters what you eat..how much you eat is the most important thing of all.
Give yourself a calorie limit.
1300, 1400, 1500...
as long as there is a deficit, it will cause a weight loss.
Exercise and the deficit gets larger.
Good luck.

Make a plan for weight loss. Set goals and write them down. Start with someting easy, like deciding when you'll start. Remember, motivation gets you started but habit keeps you going. And have faith in yourself.

Frozen fruit is so good, especially grapes. I don't like making New Year's Resolutions, but I might this year since I just signed up for a challenge lol.

Well, I posted my tips on my blog yesterday, I think you read them, right?
I'm going to post my resolutions tomorrow. I also stuck with 4 - they are somewhat related, too, so I think it will be a good set of goals for the new year.
Can't wait to read yours!
